Semyon Snitkovsky (1933–1981) was a Soviet violinist, laureate of various International competitions.

 

This album is recorded entirely live of a concert during the Tibor Varga Festival on July 20th, 1973 at the Jesuit Church in Sion, Valais, Switzerland.

Snitkovsky plays a Jean-Baptist violin. Wyss plays on a piano Steinway D.

An essential album for audiophiles: Snitkovsky played the music of 20th-century classics with huge enthusiasm. Snitkovsky is one of the greatest violin players of his generation.

André Cluytens said once after performing with Snitkovsky, "It is a great pleasure to play with such an outstanding artist as Semyon Snitkovsky. I will always be happy to make music with this brilliant musician". Snitkovsky was a Soviet classical violinist, a professor and laureate of various international competitions.

Semyon Snitkovsky plays a Violin by Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume. This album was recorded entirely live during a public concert of the Tibor Varga Festival on July 20, 1973, at the Jesuit Church in Sion, Valais, Switzerland.


Triston Masters -  All analogue recording. No digital equipment was used. This record was cut using the original master tape. This is a limited audiophile edition: 300 copies.
