The Four Seasons are probably one of the most frequently recorded classical works and this recording from 1992 has also been published several times. First as a CD on the Swiss Divox label, then on LP by Cisco Music in the USA, then on hybrid SACD by First Impression Music, then as a remastered LP with direct metal mastering by Pauler Acoustics in Germany for Silk Road Music in Hong Kong. But anyone who thinks that the album can no longer be developed any further is mistaken.
This variant from AudioNautes in Italy was recorded on two 45 LPs by old master Stan Ricker in California using half-speed mastering without any form of compression. The master tape was used and the cut lacquer matrices were sent to Germany for production on 180g vinyl.
Anyone who thinks this is a bit exaggerated should know that it will get worse. This LP can only be about love for the matter and in fact, it sounds not only more sublime but also more urgent and simply more beautiful than all previous editions. - A warning is still permitted. Only perfectly adjusted record players will be able to play this album well and please pay attention to the anti-skating!
The photo was taken in the church of San Martino in Treviso, Italy. You can hear the musicians of the cheerful Marca (Sonatori de la Gioiosa Marca), a baroque ensemble founded in 1983. The first violin comes from Guarneri and is played here by Giuliano Carmignola, who is considered one of the best violinists in Italy.
