Leonid Borisovich Kogan was a preeminent Ukrainian violinist during the 20th century. Many consider him to be among the greatest violinists of the 20th century. In particular, he is considered to have been one of the greatest representatives of the Soviet School of violin playing.

Edmond de Stoutz was a Swiss conductor from Zurich. He was the founder of the Zürcher Kammerorchester in 1945 and conducted the ensemble until 1996. As conductor he performed all across the world, including New York's prestigious Carnegie Hall.
