Anne Bisson

A multifaceted artist, known first as a charismatic and endearing television personality, Anne Bisson has devoted herself for several years to her first passion: music. A pianist since childhood, she won the prestigious Étoiles Du Maurier competition in 1984 with two of her original compositions. Two years later, she successfully played the character of Cristal in the popular rock opera  Starmania  in a brand new version created especially for the Lanaudière Summer Festival.

After more than twenty years of a career rich in experiences of all kinds, Anne Bisson returned to her first love, jazz, and released the album  Blue Mind  (2009), composed of her own musical creations, with her accomplices Normand Guilbeault on double bass and Paul Brochu on drums. The critics are unanimous: Anne Bisson was made for jazz!

She did it again in 2011 with  Portraits & Perfumes , an opus including jazz standards  (How insensitive, The Nearness of you)  in more substantial, even fragmented arrangements, an original cover of Us and Them  by Pink Floyd as well as original pieces written by Anne Bisson, all produced by Guy St-Onge.

On stage, we have rarely seen an artist accompany herself and interpret jazz with such ease! Her colourful personality, her contagious energy and her obvious love for music, combined with tasty anecdotes about the pitfalls of life make each of her shows a unique and memorable moment!
