Cantate Domino features Torsten Nilsson conducting Oscar's Motet Choir with organist Alf Linder (Linder is also featured on other Proprius organ recordings) and soprano Marianne Mellnas. Cantate Domino was recorded in Stockholm's Oscarskyrkan Church. This album features predominantly choral recording (think the great Argo recordings) of Christmas music ranging from Swedish folk songs to Handel with the music sung in many different languages. 

Appreciated for its superb sound quality in the recording of choral and solo voices recorded by legendary sound engineer Bertil Alving in 1976, it set a new benchmark in sound engineering. Opening with Enrico Bossi’s “Cantate Domino” for choir, organ, trumpets and trombones, the choral album includes a superb performance of a number of Swedish folk songs as well as pieces by Handel, Otto Olsson, and others.

This album is an exact reproduction of the original master tape. Everything has been done in its manufacturing to offer you exceptional sound quality. No electronic effects or post-processing. Straight to tape recording. No digital equipment at all was involved in this production.

No returns of used or played reel tapes. The tape is tailed out. Before playback the tape please rewind the tape first. Make sure that you clean open reel-to-reel tape recorder heads regularly for optimal frequency response.
