Lyn Stanley presents a triumphant tribute to the early beginnings of jazz in her Tribute to 1924 album. The songs selected represent some of the best 10 songs (plus one bonus track) composed, or promoted, during 1924 by the greatest composers-George and Ira Gershwin, Vincent Youmans, Irving Berlin and many more.
Lyn and her Jazz Mavericks team include Lyn Stanley (vocals), Mike Garson (piano), John Chiodini (guitar), Chuck Berghofer (bass), Aaron Serfaty (drums), Luis Conte (percussion), Hendrik Meurkens (harmonica) and Rickey Woodard (tenor sax). Engineering by the audiophile greats of Allen Sides and Bernie Grundman plus their expert support teams. The songs for this album include: Fascinating Rhythm, It Had To Be You, Somebody Loves Me, Hard Hearted Hannah, The Man I Love, What'll I Do?, Tea for Two, Everybody Loves My Baby, The One I Love Belongs to Somebody Else, All Alone and You Made Me Love You (bonus track). The delightful arrangements for this album were created by the band with one exception, All Alone (John Chiodini and Lyn Stanley).
This album concludes Lyn Stanley's Audiophile Reference Recording albums and was recorded at The Village in Santa Monica, CA, mixed at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, CA, and mastered by Bernie Grundman at BG Mastering, Hollywood, CA. She was discovered as a talent by Ella Fitzgerald's long-time conductor and pianist, Paul T. Smith, who encouraged her and was the first to bring her to the stage with his band The Paul Smith Trio. Lyn Stanley has ten audiophile master recording studio albums: Lost in Romance, Potions [from the 50s], Interludes, The Moonlight Sessions-Volumes One and Two, London Calling, London with a Twist, Novel Noel (A Cool Jazz Celebration), Black Dress Ballads and Tribute to 1924.
Discover by jazz legend Paul T. Smith (accompanist for Ella Fitzgerald, Sammy Davis Jr., Sarah Vaughan and many others) and his wife, vocalist Annette Warren, Ms. Stanley made her singing debut with the Paul Smith Trio in February 2011. She is a 2010 National Pro/Am USDC ballroom dancesport champion in International Standard for waltz, tango, Viennese Waltz and Quickstep.
Ms. Stanley quickly became known for her alto tones and rich, sultry voice. Her debut album, "Lost In Romance" features Tamir Hendelman, Jeff Hamilton, Trey Henry, Jim de Julio, Mike Lang, Llew Mathews, Kevin Axt, Paul Kreibich, Thom Rotella, Bob Sheppard, Bob McChesney, Gilbert Castellanos and Bernie Dressel.
