Outstandingly true genius, not only vocally but musically as well. This album showcases jazz standards of the past and present and presents them in a unique and listenable style with great arrangements. Ingram Washington's distinctive baritone voice exhibits the smoothness of Billy Eckstine while his vocal styling shows a touch of Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra. It is no surprise that Ingram has such a large following in Western Europe. The album includes some dreamy romantic ballads like the hauntingly beautiful Rogers and Hart composition "My Funny Valentine" and the Nat King Cole classic "Unforgettable".
Listening to the old ballads at that time became one of Ingram's favourite past times and he became very close to the mellow tones of singers like Nat King Cole, Al Hibbler, Joe Williams, and of course the man he admires most for his deep baritone voice, Arthur Prysock.
