AudioNautes Recordings is proud to present this classic on UHQCD. This recording was made in 2004 in the Bibiena Theater in Mantua, known for its exceptional acoustics.
Captivating and full of spontaneity, Aco Bocina, known as the world's best mandolinist, thrills the audience with Mediterranean sounds and - in reference to Mozart's concert for the inauguration ceremony of this theatre in the 18th century - even with its famous "Little Night Music".
Aco Bocina began playing the guitar at the age of 9. His passion for the mandolin made him write and play music, so that at a young age he travelled Europe both as a soloist and as the first mandolinist of large orchestras. Bocina, who owns various rare mandolins and guitars, has released several albums over the years, worked on soundtracks for the documentary "Paralelo 24" and the film "El Soñador" in 2003 and 2004, and was awarded the "Libero Bovio" prize in 2016.
For the realization of the audiophile version of the concert, previously not released on UHQCD, it was possible to obtain the full support of the artist, in addition to the original master recordings. Through Miles Showell's mastering at Abbey Road Studios, the magic and energy of the original recording is ideally transported.
Aco Bocina’s masterfully played mandolin recording was sourced from the “Direct From Original Master Source” series, and Neumann VMS 80, Neumann SX 74, the iconic Neumann SAL74B amplifier, and the famous Studer A80 tape machine were used. The brilliantly sounding songs flow with one-of-a-kind fluidity, and Bocina’s playing inspires an utterly persuasive theatrical encounter. Accompanied by the subtle yet ever-present Alberto Guareschi on double bass and the wizardry of Alberto Guareschi on fretless electric bass, this outstanding record was captured in 2004 at the Bibiena Theater in Mantua, Italy.

All About Ultimate High-Quality CD (UHQCD):
UHQCD stands for Ultimate High Quality Compact Disc and is a joint development of the Japanese CD replication company Memory-Tech and the Audio Quality CD Company from Hong Kong. Unlike conventional CDs, UHQCDs are not pressed from polycarbonate, but cast from a photopolymer and cured with UV light. Another layer of high-purity polycarbonate is applied to the softer photopolymer for scratch protection. The combination results in significantly reduced reflection of laser light inside the CD and an unmatched precise edge transition between pits and lands of the CD. UHQCDs are 100% compatible with standard CD players. Musically, the result is a sound image strongly reminiscent of analog master tapes.
About Audionautes Recordings
The name Audionautes Recordings will almost certainly be familiar to trade show enthusiasts from the HIGH END in Munich: For many years, Fabio Camorani’s company (as well as Camorani’s second technology company AudioNemesis, which he runs together with Giuseppe Intorrella) has been one of the regulars at Europe’s leading hi-fi show. However, AudioNautes has long since become synonymous not only with first-class amplifiers, turntables and loudspeakers with insider tip status, but also, with its subsidiary AudioNautes Recordings (ANR), with selected records of the highest quality.
